Job summary

EPITEC in Mossville, IL is seeking a Development / Research Engineer to lead hydraulic testing projects from planning through conclusion in a dynamic engineering environment.

This onsite, first-shift role offers flexible core hours (7:00 AM - 5:00 PM) and a 12-month contract, working with cutting-edge hydraulic and fluid power technologies.

You will collaborate with engineers, lab personnel, and internal stakeholders on innovative product development initiatives and data-driven test findings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years engineering experience; 3+ with a Master's degree.
• Hands-on mechanical experience and data analysis skills.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead hydraulic component and system testing from setup through final analysis and reporting.
• Plan, execute, and document mechanical and hydraulic testing activities.
• Analyze test data and provide conclusions and recommendations.
• Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test mechanical systems and components.
• Investigate equipment failures and diagnose mechanical issues.
• Review specifications, design proposals, and technical documentation to determine project feasibility.
• Support product development with engineering drawings and documentation.
• Collaborate closely with lab managers, test leads, shop personnel, and engineering teams.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Organized, customer-focused, and able to work effectively with both engineers and shop personnel.
