Job summary

Abnormal AI is seeking a Development Infrastructure Engineer to lead multi-component feature design and drive the roadmap for the Development Infrastructure stack. You will build and maintain CI/CD tooling, improve build/deploy pipelines, and balance scalability with cost in a cloud-native setting.

You will collaborate with teams during planning and reviews, mentor engineers, and apply Generative AI tools to optimize production workflows while handling on-call incidents.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience building backend systems and/or platforms.
• 2+ years of Python development.
• Experience delivering complex projects end-to-end in a cloud-native environment.
• Experience building or operating CI/CD, build, or deployment systems in production, including on-call and incident response.
• Understanding of distributed systems, containerization and microservices.
• Practical experience using Generative AI tools in day-to-day engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of complex, multi-component features and systems, shaping the roadmap for the Development Infrastructure area.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD infrastructure and tools for Engineering to ship changes reliably with less effort.
• Design and implement enhancements to GHA infrastructure, base Docker images and build/deploy pipelines for scalability and cost improvements.
• Use AI tools to explore solutions and adapt changes to production constraints.
• Take ownership of on-call issues, diagnose complex problems, and fix systemic gaps.
• Participate in planning, code reviews, standups, and coach other engineers on the team.
