Job summary

New Day Recovery in Ohio is seeking a Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) to support licensed staff in delivering treatment services. The role involves intake/discharge documentation, client assessments, and facilitating group sessions while maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.

Under supervision, you will coordinate referrals, communicate with external services, and contribute to curriculum development.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Efficient with confidential information and ethical guidelines.
• Ability to communicate with clients, staff, and external services.

Responsibilities

• Ensure activities align with New Day Recovery's mission, vision, and values.
• Complete intake and discharge documentation accurately and timely.
• Assess clients and develop individualized treatment plans as needed.
• Coordinate referrals for ancillary services when appropriate.
• Communicate with courts, treatment centers, and other services; conduct follow-ups.
• Relay clients’ needs to case manager, medical staff, and counselors.
• Provide group therapy and family sessions upon request; engage clients actively.
• Deliver outreach services and case management support to primary clients.
• Prepare written reports and summarize client progress per standards.
• Contribute to curriculum development and supervise client activities.
• Participate in staffing and team meetings; assist with crisis intervention.
