Job summary

Armada Recovery is seeking a dedicated Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant in Akron, Ohio. The role supports therapists in delivering group and individual counseling, documenting progress, and helping to create personalized treatment plans within a multidisciplinary team.

You will co-facilitate sessions, apply evidence-based methods, monitor progress, and provide crisis intervention when needed, while maintaining confidential patient records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum CDCA or higher.
• 1–2 years of experience in a therapeutic or support role.

Responsibilities

• Co-facilitate group counseling sessions in a supportive environment.
• Assist in facilitation of group sessions using evidence-based methods.
• Provide individual counseling under supervision and document progress.
• Collaborate with treatment team to create individualized plans and goals.
• Monitor client progress and adjust treatment strategies as needed.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as necessary.
• Maintain accurate progress notes and documentation.
