Job summary

Recovery Network of Programs, Inc. operates First Step, a structured inpatient detox program in Bridgeport, CT. The role supports screening, counseling, and coordination for adults with substance use disorders in a CARF-accredited setting.

This part-time position emphasizes crisis intervention, treatment planning, and referral services, with duties including patient care, documentation, and collaboration with medical staff to ensure safe, effective care.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in behavioral sciences and 2 years of counseling experience.
• Licensure eligibility (LCSW/LADC/LPC/LMFT) within two years of hire.
• Knowledge of counseling principles and techniques.
• Ability to gather, analyze, and evaluate information for client care.
• Understanding of substance use, homelessness, mental health issues, and related resources.
• Familiarity with confidentiality laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Screen, intake, orientation, and assess clients' information for treatment needs.
• Provide therapeutic treatment planning, counseling, case management, and crisis intervention.
• Consult with medical staff to adjust treatment plans as directed.
• Educate individuals and groups about substance abuse and mental health resources.
• Refer clients to supportive services and coordinate continuing care.
• Assist with direct client care and maintain accurate caseload records.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
