Job summary

AGS, an Akima Company, is hiring a Transportation Officer for the Florence Service Processing Center in Arizona. The position requires a CDL with passenger endorsement and entails detainee transport, security, and escort duties inside the detention facility’s secure perimeter.

Responsibilities include maintaining logbooks, performing inspections, and ensuring safety and order. Candidates must pass background checks, drug tests, and medical exams while meeting CDL and security license

Qualifications

• US citizen or permanent resident status in the US and five years of U.S. residency.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Pass a criminal background and consumer credit check (no criminal record).
• Obtain and maintain a DHS/ICE Government clearance.
• CDL with passenger endorsement to transport detainees and escorts.
• Pass pre-employment and random drug tests.
• Pass a medical examination and health requirements.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Possess a Class-B CDL with passenger endorsement.
• Ability to obtain an armed state security guard license in Arizona.
• One year of Military, Security, Law Enforcement, or Corrections experience with duties as described.
• Maintain physical fitness and adhere to CDL requirements.
• Speak, read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of detainees; uphold ethical standards and integrity.
• Perform detention, processing, safeguarding, security, escort, and transport duties.
• Exercise surveillance and control over detainees and maintain order.
• Enter transportation and processing logs with legible, complete entries.
• Conduct security and sanitation checks before shift changes.
• Perform vehicle inspections before and after routes.
• Inventory equipment and log results.
• Receive and ensure proper functioning of equipment.
• Qualify quarterly with a company-issued pistol; maintain duty belt and magazines.
• Complete required training including defensive tactics and fitness requirements.
• Guard detainees during transport and medical care; other duties as assigned.
• Follow organizational safety policies and report incidents.
