Job summary

Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company, seeks a Youth Detention Security Officer - Site Monitor in Columbia, SC. This full-time position offers daytime shifts and $17.00 per hour. The job requires at least six months of security experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid

Qualifications

• Meet COLA DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccination requirements.
• Have at least six months of security-related experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Have customer service experience, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as per laws.
• Drug screening as permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, residents, and/or contractors by carrying out site-specific security procedures and access-control policies.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify IDs, manage visitor sign-in, and control access to restricted areas.
• Respond to incidents and alarms in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify staff or responders as directed.
• Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas and report unusual conditions or activity.
• Maintain accurate logs and incident reports while communicating professionally with staff and the public.
