Job summary

City of Arlington is seeking a Detention Officer to perform administrative duties associated with the detention of prisoners. In this full-time role, you will monitor prisoner status, manage paperwork, and ensure the safety and security of both staff and inmates. Candidates must possess a high school diploma and one year of experience working with the public, in addition to undergoing screening for psychological fitness, polygraph, and drug testing. A valid Texas Class C Operator's License is required.

Qualifications

• One year experience working with the public.
• Ability to lift or exert forces equivalent to lifting up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain prisoners' paperwork.
• Escort prisoners and monitor their status and behavior.
• Administer tests to DWI suspects and oversee inmates' activities.
