Job summary

Lake Havasu City is hiring a Detention Officer to support the City Jail’s safe and efficient operations. You will book and monitor arrestees, transport inmates, and assist with court-related duties, while upholding high standards of security and accountability.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver license, and the ability to pass a thorough background check. Training for CPR/First Aid/AED is provided if needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Detention experience preferred.
• Valid Driver License.
• Background check ability.
• CPR, First Aid, AED & Food Handler’s Certification (Training provided if not currently certified).

Responsibilities

• Receive and process arrestees into the facility.
• Conduct searches, document property, take fingerprints & mugshots.
• Monitor prisoner safety and facility security.
• Transport inmates to courts, medical centers, and other facilities.
• Oversee work-release programs and maintain daily jail logs.
• Maintain inventory and assist with minor facility repairs.
