Ak-Chin Indian Community is seeking a Detention Officer to perform booking, release, and detention duties within a secure facility. The role includes documenting processes, monitoring cameras, and assisting with transfers and prisoner care.
Candidates must meet certification requirements (COTA/MCSO/BIA/FLETC) or equivalent experience, and be able to pass a thorough background check. Shifts include days, nights, weekends, and holidays with benefits provided.
Under general supervision, performs a variety of activities associated with booking, release, and detention of prisoners in a detention facility.
Detention Officers may be assigned to a day, swing, or graveyard shift on a regular rotational basis that includes working, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Must possess one of the following: AZ Correctional Officer Training Academy (COTA), Maricopa County Sheriff's Office (MCSO), or Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA/FLETC) certification, plus experience equivalent to one year full-time detention, correctional, or closely related criminal justice work. Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license and be able to meet the Community's insurance carrier requirements (no DUI/DWI convictions within the last 3 years.) Must be able to pass an extensive background check, which includes polygraph test, psychological evaluation, and physical exam.
