Job summary

The City of Pomona Police Department seeks motivated jailers to join the City’s Type I jail facility. Jailer duties include booking, processing, and releasing inmates, monitoring activity, safety checks, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalency required.
• One year of responsible work experience.
• Work experience in a law enforcement environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Process prisoners, booking forms, and custody verification.
• Perform security, safety, and health checks.
• Maintain inmate records and manage prisoner property.
• Assist with meal preparation and inventory control for those in custody.
• Assist with subpoena service and document delivery.
• Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local jail regulations.
• Provide administrative support across department sections.
• Coordinate inmate releases and transportation to court.
