Nueces County Sheriff's Office is seeking a facilities maintenance worker to perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, repair, and preventive tasks within a secure jail environment in Corpus Christi. The role includes electrical, plumbing, and door/lock work, with strict adherence to jail policies and licensing requirements.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, a Texas driver’s license, and a background check.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Texas driver’s license.
• Background check and pre-employment screenings.
• TCOLE certification or eligibility preferred.
• Experience in facilities maintenance or correctional facilities preferred.
• Ability to obtain/maintain required license within the timeframe.

Responsabilités

• Perform routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance of jail facilities and building systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits, plumbing lines, doors, locks, and security hardware.
• Inspect and repair equipment while coordinating with licensed personnel as required.
• Maintain security controls, alarms, access devices, and related safety equipment.
• Complete work orders and maintain maintenance logs accurately and timely.
• Follow Sheriff’s Office policies, safety rules, and training requirements.
