Job summary

Laramie County Government seeks a Detention Facility Monitor to oversee safety and security operations within the detention environment. The role includes monitoring intercoms, cameras, alarms, and access control, while recording incidents and supporting staff in daily security tasks.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of 280 hours of operational training, and successful background checks. Training duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; must pass a thorough background investigation, and complete 280 hours of operational training.
• Polygraph, psychological, and physical or stress tests may be required prior to appointment.

Responsibilities

• Monitors safety and security of staff, inmates, visitors and facility via cameras and intercom systems.
• Operates door release panels and records access; maintains incident logs and checklists.
• Monitors alarms and communicates incidents to supervisors as procedures require.
• Acts as Training Officer for new employees as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
