Job summary

Laramie County Government is seeking a Part-Time Court Security Deputy to maintain safety and security in the Court Complex. Responsibilities include supervising inmates and managing courthouse access points, delivering public service to staff, attorneys, and visitors.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, pass a background check and have a current Peace or Detention Officer Certification from Wyoming POST.

Qualifications

• Must pass a thorough background investigation and polygraph.
• Must have a current Peace or Detention Officer Certification from Wyoming POST.
• Must be able to interact with individuals with professionalism and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and order in Circuit and District Courtrooms.
• Supervise inmates and ensure compliance with court rules.
• Operate and monitor all security equipment in the courthouse.

Skills

Knowledge of Wyoming State statutes

Ability to de-escalate conflict

Ability to manage multiple priorities

Effective interpersonal communication skills

Education
