Job summary

Saline County is seeking a Detention Lieutenant to supervise detention officers, oversee inmate safety, and ensure facility readiness. The role includes managing security, medications, transport to court, and documenting incidents with precision.

Qualifications include a GED or high school diploma, five years of related experience, three years of management experience, and CLEST certification or ability to obtain within one year. Health and retirement benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED; evidence via transcript or diploma; home schooling not accepted without approval.
• Experience: five years related experience/training and three years related management experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure booking of all lawfully arrested people with proper procedures and documentation.
• Prepare daily reports and maintain records of incidents and disciplinary actions.
• Directly supervise staff and ensure duties comply with laws, policies and ordinances.
