Job summary

Tulare County Sheriff's Department is seeking a non-sworn Detention Specialist to operate central control mechanisms across detention facilities. The role requires learning jail operations quickly and coordinating with supervisory staff to ensure security and order.

Responsibilities include using the control panel, maintaining central communication, writing incident reports, and responding to emergencies per procedures. Ongoing training will be provided.

• Knowledge of basic math.

Responsibilities

• Operate the detention central control panel to maintain security of the unit.
• Maintain communication between central control, Intake Sergeant and Officers.
• Write incident reports and log information clearly and accurately.
• Respond to emergency situations following established procedures.
• Attend training programs and activities as required.
