Job summary

Twin Falls County Sheriff is seeking a Detention Officer to monitor inmate safety and security in the county detention facility. You will perform booking, transport, housing assignments, and regular checks while following strict policies and procedures.

The role requires handling sensitive information, maintaining logs, and working with law enforcement peers to uphold safety, privacy, and compliance standards in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of local, state and federal laws applicable to detention.
• Detention procedures, equipment, and objectives.
• Defensive tactics, handcuffing, and firearm operations.
• First Aid and CPR basics and proper reporting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor inmates to ensure safety and security of facility.
• Process new inmates: booking, fingerprinting, housing, paperwork.
• Maintain facility security: patrolling and operating doors/equipment.
• Prepare and file accurate written reports and logs.
• Respond to medical requests and inmate needs per policy.
