Job summary

National Police seeks a diligent detention facility officer to help maintain safety and security within the facility. You will monitor inmate movement, control access points, and operate alarms and communication systems.

Responsibilities include recording inmate counts, preparing reports for court or administration, and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures. A high school diploma or GED is required, with a Colorado driver’s license and 18+ years of age.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement, Public Administration, or related field is preferred.
• Valid Colorado Driver’s License required.
• Minimum age 18 years.
• Vision correctable to 20/40.
• Ability to be assertive and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and security within the detention facility by monitoring inmate movement and controlling access points.
• Operate control panels, alarms, radios, cameras, and other systems to observe housing areas and activities.
• Track inmate movement and maintain accurate records using JMS and other systems.
• Prepare incident reports, daily logs, and documents for court/administrative use.
• Count inmates and keep accurate location documentation.
• Notify supervisors and emergency services in high-risk situations.
• Participate in ongoing training on safety procedures and facility operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
