Qualifications

• Knowledge of detention center operations, security practices, and correctional principles.
• Knowledge of laws, regulations, and procedures governing detention operations.
• Experience supervising staff and managing schedules and performance.
• Understanding of detainee intake, housing, movement, and grievances.
• Familiarity with emergency management and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Direct and monitor detention center operations, security activities, and personnel.
• Oversee intake, release, detainee movement, activities, and related processes.
• Ensure compliance with county policies, procedures, and security standards.
• Coordinate staffing, overtime, training, and post assignments to maintain coverage.
• Review incidents, injuries, and disciplinary actions and document outcomes.
• Respond to emergencies and communicate with command staff during incidents.
• Supervise Sergeants and Detention Officers to ensure performance and compliance.
• Coordinate with Booking, Classification, Training, and Professional Standards units as assigned.
