Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field is required.
• Arizona Post Law Enforcement Certification is required.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
• Training in interview and interrogation, evidence handling, and reporting is expected.
• Knowledge of search warrants, crime scene processing, and case follow-up procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conducts investigations of serious crimes, including those against children, homicide and aggravated assaults with serious injuries or weapon involvement.
• Interviews witnesses, victims, and suspects to gather usable information for investigations.
• Collects and preserves evidence; writes search warrants and photographs scenes.
• Maintains contact with deputies and other law enforcement agencies to share information.
• Maintains relationships with County Attorney and investigators.
• Writes complete and concise investigation reports.
