Job summary

Snap Inc. is seeking a Senior Security Engineer in Santa Monica to join the Detection and Response team. You will design, pilot, and implement logging and alerting systems across endpoints, infrastructure, networks, and cloud environments to detect malicious activity.

You will build automation, investigate incidents, and lead threat hunting efforts using AI-assisted tooling, with a focus on secure, scalable, production-grade code and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and operating logging and alerting systems across endpoints, infrastructure, networks, and cloud environments.
• Strong automation and scripting capabilities to improve detection and response workflows.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple teams during incidents and drive response efforts.

Responsibilities

• Design, pilot, and implement logging and alerting systems to detect malicious activity.
• Build tools and automation to improve threat hunting and incident response.
• Investigate events from the alerting pipeline and triage potential incidents.
• Utilize AI tools and high-velocity workflows to ship scalable services with strong security and production-grade quality.
• Collaborate with multiple Snap teams during incidents and drive response efforts.
• Identify, analyze, fingerprint, and build threat intelligence on TTPs of adversaries.
