Job summary

Snap Inc. is seeking a Senior Security Engineer for the Detection and Response team in a fast-paced security environment. You will design and implement logging, alerting, and automation to hunt threats across endpoints, networks, and cloud environments.

You will collaborate with multiple Snap teams during incidents, analyze attacker TTPs, and ensure code correctness and production-ready quality. Strong Python/Go skills and cloud experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years security experience post-Bachelors (or 5+ with MS/PhD).
• Experience in detection, incident management, and threat intelligence is required.
• Strong coding in Python and/or Go and cloud familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Design, pilot, and implement logging and alerting to detect threats.
• Build tools and automation to hunt threats and respond to intrusions.
• Investigate events from alerting pipelines and triage incidents.
• Leverage AI tools while ensuring security and code quality.
• Coordinate with Snap teams during incidents and drive response efforts.
• Analyze and fingerprint trends in attacker TTPs across APTs and cybercrime.
