Job summary

American Buildings Company - IL, a Nucor division, is seeking a Detailing Trainee for Steel Drafting and BIM Modeling at our El Paso, IL facility. This entry-level role offers growth into advanced 3D modeling and drafting responsibilities and emphasizes safety and quality in every task.

You will work with engineers to produce 3D BIM models and associated drawings, learning standardized procedures and best practices while contributing to project deliverables and ongoing process improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math, geometry and trigonometry skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (visa sponsorship not offered)

Responsibilities

• Create Anchor Bolt, Permit and Approval drawings in a fast-paced environment.
• Review contract documents for accuracy and consistency.
• Collaborate with Engineers to develop best practices.
• Create 3D BIM models to aid in drawings development.
