Job summary

South Bay Solutions in California seeks an experienced Detail Lead to oversee daily detailing operations, ensuring all parts are cleaned, polished, and prepared to our strict quality standards. You will lead the detailing team, maintain workflow efficiency, enforce safety procedures, and coordinate with production and quality departments to support on-time delivery.

The ideal candidate has hands-on detailing experience in a machine shop, strong leadership, and a commitment to quality workmanship

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in machine shop detailing, manufacturing finishing, or related environments.
• Minimum 1 year of leadership, supervisory, or lead experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination abilities.
• Knowledge of detailing techniques, cleaning equipment, polishing methods, and related products.

Responsibilities

• Lead detailing team: assign tasks, monitor progress, and mentor team members.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure cleanliness and finish standards; provide corrective feedback.
• Prioritize detailing work based on production schedules and deadlines; coordinate with departments.
• Maintain detailing tools, equipment, and inventory; ensure safe handling and storage of chemicals.
• Enforce OSHA guidelines and safety procedures at all times.
