Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a BIM/ detailing lead to support construction projects through shop drawings, BIM modeling, and MEP systems. You will coordinate across design and modeling groups, ensure constructability, and drive on-time model development and trade coordination with general contractors.

The role requires experience with Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD, and strong communication to manage resources and meet project deliverables.

Qualifications

• High School or GED with 6 years of detailing experience or 4 years with trade apprentice program completion
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction or related field preferred
• Field Foreman/General Foreman preferred
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret basic construction documents
• Current knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Piping, Sheet Metal trades and field installation methods
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to coordinate projects
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Ability to interpret the Construction Schedule to integrate a design pull schedule
• Working knowledge of Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD

Responsibilities

• Leads detailing team and constructability on smaller or less complex projects
• Partners with design and modeling group to minimize model rework
• Leads communication between project team members to address concerns and ensure a successful product
• Provides material, content and feedback to applicable team members
• Leads final trade coordination and sign-off with General Contractor
• Contributes to design pull schedule to direct model development to meet deliverables
• Manages resources assigned to the project
• Participates in conceptual design to promote modular construction and constructability standards
• Supports budget with cost accountability
