Job summary

Southland Industries seeks an experienced BIM/Detailer to support construction projects by creating and coordinating shop drawings, BIM models, and MEP layouts. You will collaborate with project teams to ensure accuracy and timely deliverables.

You will lead less-experienced detailers, maintain document control, and contribute to cost awareness and schedule alignment. Proficiency in Navisworks, Revit, and AutoCAD is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED with related experience or completion of a trade apprenticeship and 2 years of field experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and drawings.
• Knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Piping, and Sheet Metal trades.
• Proficient with BIM tools and coordination processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage shop drawings, RFI’s and construction documentation.
• Create advanced shop drawings for mechanical systems.
• Produce equipment and room layout drawings.
• Maintain document control and retrievable records.
• Lead and delegate tasks to junior detailers.
• Support budget tracking and cost accountability.
