Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED with 6+ years electrical detailing experience, or completion of electrical trade apprenticeship with 4+ years field experience.
  • Hands-on proficiency in Autodesk Revit and related BIM tools.
  • Experience detailing electrical systems including conduit, cable tray, panels, switchgear, and distribution.
  • Familiarity with NEC and local codes and ability to read construction docs.

Role Overview

The Detailer Lead - Electrical supports construction projects through the creation, coordination, and management of electrical shop drawings and BIM models, leading the electrical detailing team and constructability efforts on generally smaller and less complex projects.

This role focuses on electrical trade coordination and technical leadership, partnering closely with the design and modeling group and leading the final trade sign-off process for electrical scope. Because the role sits alongside our manufacturing and fabrication operation, it also carries responsibility for keeping model output install-ready and buildable on the shop floor. This position reports to our Fort Worth facility three to four days per week.

This role may be filled at varying levels based on the candidate's skills, experience, and overall qualifications. Final title, level, and compensation will be determined through the interview and assessment process and will be aligned with internal equity and external market benchmarks.

Core Responsibilities
  • Lead the electrical detailing team and constructability efforts on generally smaller and less complex projects
  • Partner with the design and modeling group to incorporate electrical constructability knowledge in a timely manner to minimize model rework
  • Lead communication among project team members on electrical coordination and scope; ensure concerns are addressed and resolved
  • Provide material, content, and feedback to electrical detailers on the team
  • Lead the final electrical trade coordination and sign-off process with the general contractor
  • Contribute to the design pull schedule to direct model development for electrical scope of work
  • Manage resources assigned to electrical detailing tasks
  • Participate in conceptual design for electrical systems supporting modular construction and constructability standards
  • Review and QA/QC electrical shop drawings, spool sheets, and models prior to release
  • Support prefabrication and modular delivery by coordinating install-ready details with the fabrication facility
  • Support budget planning and maintain cost accountability for electrical detailing work
Required Background
  • High School diploma or GED and minimum of 6 years of progressive electrical detailing experience, or completed electrical trade apprenticeship program and a minimum of 4 years of related field experience
  • Hands-on working proficiency in Autodesk Revit
  • Demonstrated experience detailing electrical systems including conduit, cable tray, panels, switchgear, and distribution
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, or a related field preferred
  • Field Foreman or General Foreman experience in the electrical trade preferred
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to write, edit, and proofread content
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical construction documents and specifications
  • Current, hands-on knowledge of electrical trades and field installation methods
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and relevant local and state electrical codes
  • Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring electrical detailers
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control on electrical shop drawings
  • Ability to coordinate projects
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Ability to interpret the construction schedule to integrate a design pull schedule
  • Working knowledge of applicable AEC, BIM, and CAD software (Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD)
  • Able to work on-site at our Fort Worth, Texas manufacturing and fabrication facility three to four days per week
  • Manufacturing or fabrication shop exposure, including prefabrication workflows and shop-floor coordination (Preferred)
  • Experience producing spool sheets and fabrication-level details for electrical prefabrication(Preferred)
  • Familiarity with electrical-specific BIM tools such as Evolve Electric(Preferred)
  • Experience with levels of development standards (LOD 300 to 400)(Preferred)
  • Trimble Total Station or field layout experience(Preferred)
  • Hyperscale data center, hospital, or life sciences project experience(Preferred)
