Multi-Weld Services, Inc. is an award-winning steel fabrication company headquartered in Contoocook, NH. Over the last 40 years, we have developed a reputation for quality miscellaneous metals fabrication and installation. Due to the unique and varied nature of the projects we take on, no two days are ever the same at Multi-Weld. We are a true custom fabrication shop, handling small residential projects to large commercial contracts, and everything in between.

We have a position available for a Miscellaneous Metals and Light Structural Steel Detailer.

The Detailer is responsible for creating detailed shop drawings and erection plans for a wide variety of structural and miscellaneous metal projects. This position works closely with project managers, fabricators, and installers to ensure designs are accurate, practical, and fully compliant with project specifications and industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, custom fabrication environment, and a strong desire to leverage and integrate cutting-edge, industry-specific technologies to optimize operational workflows.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare detailed fabrication and erection drawings for structural and miscellaneous metal projects, including stairs, railings, platforms, and light structural framing.
• Review contract drawings and specifications to ensure project accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, fabricators, and installers to clarify design intent and resolve conflicts.
• Generate accurate material lists and shop details for production.
• Gather accurate dimensions of existing conditions using both manual and automated methods (3D Laser Scanning).
• Review and revise drawings based on fabrication feedback, field conditions, or customer changes.
• Maintain organized project documentation and revision tracking.
• Ensure all drawings conform to company standards, fabrication capabilities, and applicable codes.
• Utilize AutoCAD and/or 3D modeling software (e.g., Tekla, Autodesk Advance Steel or Inventor) to develop and revise models and drawings.
