Job summary

Associated Grocers Baton Rouge is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our Retail Services Accounting team. You will process payroll for RSA clients, maintain payroll records, deductions, and related accounting transactions.

This role offers weekly payroll, competitive pay, a robust benefits package, 401K, PTO, and a supportive team environment. Candidates should have 4–6 years of multi-company payroll experience and strong Excel, Word, and Outlook skills.

Qualifications

• Four to six years of full-service payroll experience in a multi-company environment.
• Experience with Netchex payroll software preferred.
• Up-to-date FFCRA/CARES payroll knowledge.
• Ability to train customers and provide outstanding service.
• Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong time management, organization, and attention to detail.
• 10-key skills required.

Responsibilities

• Review RSA client payroll timesheets and wage computations for accuracy.
• Process, balance, and close RSA client payrolls and generate reports.
• Reconcile payroll information with SUTA rates and worker's comp audits.
• Add new hires and maintain payroll records.
• Issue adjustments for errors or retroactive increases.
• Manage deductions including insurance, retirement, and garnishments.
• Prepare daily net payroll for RSA clients.
• Reconcile bank drafts monthly and verify ACH refunds.
• Provide payroll customer service and training.
• Inform employees and managers on payroll matters and benefits.
