Job summary

Kendal at Lexington is a not-for-profit Life Plan Community in Lexington, VA, seeking a dependable Housekeeper to maintain clean, comfortable, and welcoming environments for residents and staff. You will work in a campus setting, performing routine cleaning tasks, adhering to infection-control practices, and supporting residents with courteous and respectful service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established cleaning procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable, punctual, and service-oriented.
• Ability to communicate effectively and interact respectfully with residents, visitors, and coworkers.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in a residential care environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain resident rooms, common areas, offices, and other assigned spaces throughout the campus.
• Perform routine dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, sanitizing, and restroom cleaning.
• Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables in accordance with established procedures.
• Replenish cleaning and restroom supplies as needed.
• Follow established cleaning schedules, procedures, and infection-control practices.
• Safely operate and maintain housekeeping equipment and use cleaning products according to manufacturer and safety guidelines.
• Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, and needed repairs to the appropriate department.
• Provide courteous and respectful service to residents, visitors, and staff.
• Assist with special cleaning projects and other housekeeping duties as needed.
