Job summary

Gundersons CFO & Bookkeeping in Hempstead, TX is seeking a detail-driven bookkeeper for a full-time, in-person position. You will manage bookkeeping for a portfolio of small-business clients, perform monthly reconciliations, and prepare financial reports.

The role requires 2+ years of bookkeeping experience and proficiency in QuickBooks Online, plus GAAP knowledge. Responsibilities include AP/AR, general ledger maintenance, payroll coordination, and client communications.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably with small business clients.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO ProAdvisor certification a plus).
• Solid working knowledge of GAAP bookkeeping principles.
• Experience with bank reconciliations, AP/AR, and monthly financial reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
• Experience managing multiple client files simultaneously.
• Familiarity with payroll processing (ADP, Gusto, or similar).

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple small business clients.
• Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate general ledger entries and chart of accounts.
• Process accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare monthly financial reports: P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
• Support payroll coordination and reconciliation.
• Greet and assist walk-in clients, answering routine inquiries and directing complex questions to the appropriate team member.
• Communicate with clients on routine bookkeeping matters.
• Flag discrepancies and elevate issues through proper channels.
• Maintain organized, complete client files within firm systems.
