Job summary

City of Pierre is seeking an Accountant with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting to join the Finance Office team. The role involves detailed financial recording, reporting, and supporting the Finance Officer and Deputy in various accounting tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Receipting incoming payments to the City and posting general ledger entries.
• Managing accounts receivable, customer billings, and invoicing corrections.
• Assisting with delinquent accounts, monthly GL entries, and department financial reporting.
• Support monthly bank reconciliation, sales tax submissions, and daily bank deposits.
• Assist with annual 1099 reporting and miscellaneous administrative duties.
