Job summary

Ascend is seeking an entry‑level to mid‑level accountant to provide timely financial data and ensure GAAP compliance. The role supports the corporate controller, maintains records, and improves processes within an office environment.

The candidate will reconcile sources of data, prepare tax reports, and handle month-end tasks while maintaining strong attention to detail and communication with vendors and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Accounting, Economics or Finance with 1–2 years of accounting work experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications is essential.

Responsibilities

• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
• Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
• Reconcile insurance reserves and book journal entries monthly.
• Match bank data daily and perform monthly bank reconciliations.
• Reconcile and enter fuel/tolls expenses.
• Prepare various tax reports for vehicles and use taxes as required monthly/quarterly/annually.
• Research and resolve various accounting issues.
• Assist Corporate Controller on other tasks as needed.
• Adhere to Ascend policies and internal controls with integrity.
