Job summary

ACCESS in Oregon is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support month-end close, reconciliations, and streamlined accounting processes. You will collaborate with internal departments and external partners to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls, while handling grants and nonprofit-related tasks.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and 1–3 years of accounting experience, with proficiency in Excel and accounting software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience preferred (nonprofit or grant-funded experience is a plus).
• Understanding of GAAP and standard accounting practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including cash, AR, prepaid, fixed assets, and liabilities.
• Process vendor invoices and credit card expenses; assist with AP aging and vendor statements.
• Assist with audits and prepare schedules and supporting documentation.
