Job summary

Southern Vitreoretinal Associates is seeking a Certified Coder to join our Central Billing Office in Tallahassee. The role demands accuracy, independence, and accountability in coding physician services, entering charges, and submitting clean claims.

You will review daily charges, resolve claim rejections, and research coding questions while collaborating with physicians and staff. A CPC/COC/CCS/CCS-P certification plus EHR experience are required.

Qualifications

• Valid medical coding certification such as CPC, COC, CCS, or CCS-P is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in medical coding, medical billing, or Revenue Cycle operations preferred.
• Working knowledge of EHR and medical billing software, ModMed EHR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review charges daily for accuracy and timely processing.
• Enter surgery and ROP charges into the Practice Management system.
• Review and resolve claim rejections from the clearinghouse.
• Correct coding or billing issues to ensure clean claims.
• Respond to coding questions from physicians and staff.
• Research coding, payer, and billing issues and follow through to resolution.
