Job summary

Associated Retina Consultants is seeking a detail‑oriented Medical Billing Specialist to process insurance payments, enter charges, and assist patients with their accounts in a high‑volume ophthalmology billing environment.

The role requires accuracy, knowledge of CPT/ICD‑10 coding, and strong communication with payers. 2+ years of medical billing experience is preferred, with proficiency in EMR systems and Microsoft Office. This is an in‑office, full‑time position in Casa Grande, AZ.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 2+ years medical billing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance guidelines including HMO/PPO, Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer requirements and systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and 10 key calculators.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology, including CPT/ICD-10 coding.
• HIPAA confidentiality awareness.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient confidentiality and handle personal information.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports for executive director and billing supervisor.
• Verify claim accuracy before submission and review denials to maximize reimbursement.
• Follow aging reports to pursue unpaid claims over 30 days.
• Review referrals and authorizations for billing accuracy.
• Respond to questions from patients, insurers, and providers.
