Job summary

Travel Lane County in Eugene, OR is seeking a Communications Manager to craft clear, audience-focused content for visitors, partners, and industry stakeholders. You will shape messaging across destinations, events, and campaigns, delivering high-quality content quickly during busy seasons.

This role collaborates with marketing, sales and membership teams, deploys email communications via Act-On, and manages social media content.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in communications, content creation, journalism or a related field.
• Exceptional writing skills, with demonstrated ability to produce original, polished content across consumer and industry audiences.
• Experience laying out and deploying email communications in Act-On or a similar platform.
• High-volume producer with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
• Experience in destination marketing or tourism is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Content Creation (40%): Write original consumer-facing content including blogs, destination stories and leisure travel inspiration across channels; write industry-facing content including partner communications and organizational updates; adapt content for different audiences; extend content across channels.
• Email Communications (30%): Layout, proof and deploy newsletters; produce one-off emails; ensure accuracy and on-brand deployment.
• Social Media Support (15%): Write captions, prepare posts, manage approval pipeline, schedule content.
• Cross-Team Coordination (15%): Work with marketing, sales and membership to align content with campaigns; manage requests in project management system; deploy industry communications.
• Additional Responsibilities: Support visitor center operations as needed; other duties as assigned.
