Job summary

Contact Government Services is seeking an experienced Desktop/Workstation Design Engineer to contribute to architecture discussions, system reviews, and roadmap planning for desktop integration. You will help deploy Windows images across devices, support patching, and collaborate with stakeholders to meet security and operational requirements.

The role emphasizes independent work, Windows OS engineering, and experience with MECM/MDT, SCCM, and virtualization environments.

Qualifications

Experience upgrading desktops via Windows 7 to Windows 10, including application upgrades and litigating software such as Ipro and Concordance.
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance on a Windows 10 image for Intel-based systems, integrated with Exchange 2013 and Office 2013.
Windows OS engineering experience and understanding of security controls on images.
Experience integrating anti-virus software into images and enabling VPN/remote access.
Proficiency in Windows scripting and writing skills for documentation.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain desktop OS images for enterprise deployment.
Engineer large-scale software deployment using MECM and MDT.
Create and update software distribution packages for desktops, laptops, tablets, and servers.
Recommend hardware configurations for desktops and servers.
Support OS patching infrastructure (BigFix or MECM) for security updates.
Analyze desktop, laptop, tablet, and server hardware suitability.
Perform security-related tasks including patch management and auditing.
