Job summary

Airbus in Washington (Bingen) seeks an entry-level software engineer to design, refine, and maintain desktop ground-control applications using C++ and C#. The role emphasizes creating user-friendly UI, close-to-hardware work, and translating telemetry into clear visual tools.

You will collaborate with systems, embedded, and network engineers, participate in code reviews, write tests, and document features for operators and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum of six months experience programming in C++ and/or C#, through coursework or personal/academic projects.
• Basic understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Ability to debug and troubleshoot application-level issues.
• Ability to translate functional requirements into working application features.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain desktop applications (C++/C#) that serve as the operator-facing interface to our ground control and aircraft systems.
• Implement and refine UI/UX elements to make complex system data clear and actionable for operators.
• Debug and resolve application issues reported by internal users/operators.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure application reliability.
• Collaborate with systems/network and embedded engineers to integrate data feeds (telemetry, network/health status, sensor data) into the application layer.
• Participate in code reviews and follow established software development practices.
• Document application features, known issues, and usage guidance for operators and internal teams.
