Job summary

Alltech Solutions is seeking a Desktop Support Technician to provide on-site and phone support for customers and corporate offices in Pasadena. You will install PCs, LANs, and cabling, image workstations, and assist in moves while handling Windows software and hardware.

The role requires knowledge of MS Office, TCP/IP and Windows Active Directory, plus familiarity with Windows Server 2003/2008, cabling, and networking gear. A HS diploma and 1+ year related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1 year related experience preferred
• BS in Computer Science or related field preferred
• Experience in help desk or educational industry preferred

Starting Pay Range $23.00 - $29.00 - Hourly Depending on experience Job Description: Alltech Solutions' mission is to unburden educators from IT complexities, allowing them to concentrate fully on student success. The team is seeking a Desktop Support Technician who will provide on site and phone support for all customers and corporate offices.

What You Will Do

You will install PC's, LANs, and cabling software as well as assist in imaging workstations and laptops with Windows software. Proficiency with all hardware and software used by all customers will be required.

Skills and Knowledge you must have

Working knowledge of computer software and hardware with excellent interpersonal and oral communication. Work efficiently under pressure while maintaining courtesy and professionalism, and the ability to learn new and updated software and hardware. You may assist in PC moves so must have the ability to lift up to 20 lbs. on a frequent basis and travel as needed.

What you need to know

Proficient knowledge of MS Office, TCP/IP, and Windows Active Directory environment including: Windows Server 2003/2008 familiarity, Cabling skills (Phone and Data) Ability to work with Wireless Access Points, Routers and Switches Windows Server Group Policy Management Windows SQL Server Experience.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or its equivalent and/or minimum 1 year related experience BS in Computer Science or related field preferred Previous help desk and/or educational industry experience preferred
