Job summary

Zone 5 Technologies is seeking a motivated IT Desktop Support Specialist to join our hands-on team in California. You will provide desktop and server support for Windows and Linux, assist users, perform maintenance, and help with infrastructure improvements.

Qualifications

• Recent graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or 3–5 years of IT support experience.
• Basic to intermediate understanding of Windows desktop and server environments is a plus.
• Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Good problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide desktop and server support for Windows systems (installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance).
• Assist users with software and hardware issues in both Linux and Windows environments.
• Perform routine system maintenance and updates across supported platforms.
• Monitor system performance and respond to alerts or issues as needed.
• Support end-user accounts, permissions, and access rights in accordance with best practices.
• Maintain documentation of procedures, configurations, and system changes.
• Collaborate with IT team members on infrastructure improvements and automation projects.
• Participate in system upgrades and deployment of new technologies.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Desktop Support Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be either a recent graduate with a strong foundation in IT systems or have 3–5 years of hands‑on experience supporting both Linux and Windows environments. This role focuses on providing technical support for Windows desktop and server systems along with some Linux workstations.

Key Responsibilities

Pay range for this role: $38 – $44.23 USD
