Axiom Technologies is seeking a capable Desktop Support Engineer to provide on-site end-user support in Evansville, Indiana. Immediate start as an Independent Contractor with on-site assignments managed by the Service Delivery Team.

You will troubleshoot Windows desktops, laptops, peripherals, and basic network connectivity, triage tickets, and coordinate with other technicians to ensure timely resolution and excellent service delivery on client sites.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and desktop environments.
• Experience in hardware troubleshooting and replacement.
• Basic understanding of networking (LAN connectivity, switches, routers).
• Ability to diagnose and resolve desktop, printer, and peripheral issues.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently in onsite support environments.

• Install, configure, and maintain hardware, operating systems, and enterprise software applications.

• Document service activities and communicate updates to the service delivery team.
• Follow client IT policies and security procedures while performing on-site tasks.

We are looking for a capable resource to coordinate tasks, ranging from simple activities to more complex plans. This role provides on-site assistance to end-users within the organisation’s desktop computing environment in a timely and accurate manner to ensure optimal service delivery.

The Desktop Support Engineer provides first- and second-level technical support and manages the efficient assignment and dispatch of service requests. This on-site role ensures end-user issues are resolved promptly—either directly or by coordinating with other technicians—by triaging tickets, prioritizing tasks, and maintaining strong communication between IT and users.

Work Model

• On-demand / field support role
• Work assignments will be shared by the Service Delivery Team
• Engineers will be contacted via phone or email when support is required
• Engineers will receive site location, SPOC details, and reporting time before each assignment
• No guaranteed number of working hours
