Job summary

Physicians Mutual is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to provide advanced technical support for employees and workplace technology. You’ll troubleshoot hardware, software, applications, and connectivity issues while serving as a trusted resource for end users.

The role emphasizes collaboration with developers and IT teams, strong customer service, and maintaining documentation and procedures. This position requires a BS in a related field and 2–3 years of end-user support experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
2–3 years of experience supporting hardware, software, applications, or end‑user technology.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, cloud-based tools, and workstation technologies.
Experience with Microsoft Intune or similar endpoint management technologies.
Strong troubleshooting, critical‑thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
Ability to learn and support a wide variety of business applications and technologies.
Strong documentation, organization and prioritization skills.
Collaborative, adaptable and comfortable working independently when needed.

Responsibilities

Provide second-level technical support for desktop, software, hardware, application, printer, and network-related issues.
Troubleshoot complex technical problems and collaborate with developers, administrators, and other technology teams to implement solutions.
Configure, deploy, maintain, and support employee workstations, laptops, software, and remote-access technology.
Install and upgrade approved software, test configurations, and maintain technical documentation and support procedures.
Provide clear, customer-focused technical assistance and training to employees at all levels of the organization.
Maintain ownership of support issues from initial escalation through resolution and follow-up.
Participate in corporate and technical projects and support the implementation of new technologies.
Stay current on emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve reliability, usability, and employee productivity.
