Desktop Support Engineer

About the Opportunity
Are you looking to build a strong foundation in core infrastructure and high-performance computing? We are seeking an ambitious Desktop Support Engineer to join a fast-paced environment and support critical daily IT and desktop technology operations. Working alongside senior engineering mentor talent, you will gain hands-on experience troubleshooting complex Linux systems, hardware, and networks with a direct path to transition into a full Systems Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Deliver hands-on technical assistance for office technology, desktop systems, and end-user environments.
- Assemble, configure, upgrade, diagnose, and repair PC hardware and workstation components.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and basic connectivity issues to identify root causes and implement solutions.
- Maintain and support Linux-based workstations operating within a technical financial environment.
- Assist with infrastructure deployments, system updates, and routine IT operational workflows.
- Document operational procedures, technical solutions, and troubleshooting guides.
- Collaborate on increasingly complex systems and infrastructure projects alongside senior engineers.
Requirements (Must-Have)
- 1–3 years of experience in desktop support, IT operations, or systems administration.
- Practical, working knowledge of Linux operating systems.
- Solid understanding of PC hardware components with experience assembling, configuring, or repairing workstations.
- Proven troubleshooting skills across both hardware and software layers.
- Foundational understanding of networking concepts.
- Strong problem-solving mindset, rapid learning agility, and willingness to take ownership of technical challenges.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)
- Experience with Linux system administration, servers, or compute cluster environments.
- Exposure to scripting, task automation, or infrastructure tools.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Linux+).
- Prior experience supporting high-performance technology or financial trading environments.
