Job summary

Sharp Brains in Florence, Oregon is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to provide end-user IT support, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and maintain desktop infrastructure in a corporate environment.

You will install, image, and deploy Windows and macOS devices; manage Active Directory and Entra ID; administer Intune and SCCM; support MS Office/365 and enterprise apps; and handle incidents through ITSM tools. Strong customer focus is essential.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Desktop Support or EUC.
  • Experience with Windows 10/11, macOS, and basic Linux environments.
  • Proficient in AD, Entra ID, M365, SCCM, Intune, and ITSM tools.
  • Experience with peripherals, imaging, and asset management.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite and remote technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and other IT peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, OS, and network connectivity issues.
  • Install, image, and deploy Windows and macOS devices.
  • Support Microsoft Office, M365, Outlook, Teams, VPN, and enterprise apps.
  • Manage user accounts, password resets, and group management using AD and Entra ID.
  • Administer endpoint devices with Intune and SCCM, including software deployment and patching.
  • Handle incidents, service requests, and asset management through ITSM platforms.
  • Assist with LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, switches, routers, and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Perform IMAC activities, device replacements, and hardware upgrades.
  • Support rack & stack, cabling, and Smart Hands as needed.
  • Maintain hardware inventory and technical documentation.
  • Follow ITIL practices and ensure compliance with security policies and SLAs.
  • Provide professional end-user support, including VIP/executive support when required.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Desktop Support Engineer to join our onsite IT support team in Florence, Oregon. The ideal candidate will provide end-user technical support, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, manage enterprise IT assets, and ensure the smooth operation of desktop infrastructure in a corporate environment.


Key Responsibilities


  • Provide onsite and remote technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and other IT peripherals.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and network connectivity issues.

  • Install, configure, image, and deploy Windows and macOS devices.

  • Provide support for Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, VPN, and enterprise applications.

  • Perform user account administration, password resets, and group management using Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).

  • Manage endpoint devices using Microsoft Intune and SCCM, including software deployment, patch management, and compliance.

  • Handle incidents, service requests, and asset management through ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms.

  • Support LAN/WAN connectivity, Wi-Fi, switches, routers, wireless access points, and basic network troubleshooting.

  • Perform IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) activities, device replacements, and hardware upgrades.

  • Assist with rack & stack, structured cabling, and Smart Hands support when required.

  • Maintain hardware inventory, asset lifecycle records, and technical documentation.

  • Follow ITIL best practices and ensure compliance with organizational security policies and SLAs.

  • Provide professional end-user support, including VIP/executive support when required.


Required Qualifications


  • 3+ years of experience in Desktop Support, IT Support, or End User Computing (EUC).

  • Experience supporting Windows 10/11, macOS, and basic Linux environments.

  • Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, SCCM, Microsoft Intune, and ServiceNow.

  • Experience supporting printers, mobile devices, and peripheral hardware.

  • Knowledge of LAN, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switches, routers, and wireless access points.

  • Experience with hardware imaging, deployment, troubleshooting, and asset management.

  • Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
