Job summary

K-VA-T Food Stores, Inc. is seeking a Desktop Support Technician to provide primary support for desktop software and hardware across all associates.

This full-time, hourly role covers maintenance of computer equipment, wireless devices, and telephone systems in a retail environment. The ideal candidate brings 1–3 years of customer-focused desktop support experience, strong Windows OS knowledge, and proficiency with Office 365, SharePoint, and Teams.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of proven experience in a heavy customer-focus desktop support role.
• Time-management, problem-solving, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Comfortable using company help desk software and remote desktop tools.
• Extensive experience with the Windows Operating System.
• Ability to work with senior executives to resolve IT issues.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have a valid unrestricted state driver’s license.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Office 365, SharePoint and Teams.
• Ability to follow verbal/written instructions and perform routine tasks.
• Ability to on-site work during normal hours and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Act as the point of contact for computer and system concerns from associates.
• Prepare detailed reports of requests and resolutions in the ticket system.
• Learn new technologies as they emerge or are utilized.
• Create training materials and train associates on PC software.
• Organize warranties and instructional guides for hardware.
• Maintain logs of system updates and completion dates.
• Attend on-site meetings to troubleshoot hardware.
• Resolve issues related to network interruptions.
• Serve as initial contact for associate cell phone issues.
• Install and configure computer systems and applications.
• Install and troubleshoot printers, copiers, and scanning/faxing.
• Maintain IT asset inventory and disposition records.
• Work independently and under supervision as needed.
• Show urgency to complete end-user issue corrections.
• Collaborate with colleagues of varying skill levels to teach required skills.
• Attend on-site during normal hours and overtime as needed.
