Job summary

J.Crew is seeking an Associate Designer for Women’s Soft Accessories to shape seasonal scarves, wraps, hats, and gloves. You will translate market trends into designs that balance heritage with forward-looking innovation and work with cross-functional teams to drive concept to customer delivery.

The role requires 2–4 years in accessories design, proficiency in CAD/Illustrator, and a strong portfolio. A hybrid work model and competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of progressive design experience, preferably in accessories or soft goods.
• Advanced illustration and CAD skills with a refined aesthetic; proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office.
• Knowledge of knit and woven construction techniques for accessories; stitch, gauge & finishing details.
• Experience with yarn, fabric, print and trim development and evaluation.
• Strong color expertise for cohesive seasonal palettes.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, able to work within design direction while contributing ideas.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine seasonal soft accessories concepts under the Head of Accessories Design.
• Create scarves, wraps, hats, gloves, and cold-weather pieces aligned with J.Crew aesthetic.
• Collaborate with Concept, Color & Materials teams on palettes, yarn, fabrics, prints, and trims.
• Coordinate with Apparel Design to ensure accessories complement the broader collection.
• Prepare technical packages with illustrations, specs, stitch and gauge details.
• Work with Merchandising & Sourcing to maintain design intent from concept to customer.
• Participate in fittings and reviews to refine proportion, hand-feel and quality.
