Job summary

KnitWell Group in New York, NY, is seeking a Designer to lead the Pants and Denim collections from concept to final prototype. You will drive market research, mood boards, sketching, specs and fit, while partnering with cross-functional teams to maintain brand identity.

With 4–6 years in design focused on dresses and sportswear, you will translate fabrication knowledge into silhouettes, colorways and trims, attend fittings, and contribute to seasonal direction under senior design leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Design.
  • 4–6 years of design experience in Dresses and/or Sportswear.
  • Ability to communicate stitch and construction ideas through full-length and technical sketches.
  • Knowledge of fabrication, silhouettes, color ways, construction techniques and trims.
  • Creative sketching, design and conceptualization skills.
  • Strong style sense and color aptitude.
  • Leadership and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design process from concept to final prototype for Pants and Denim.
  • Research markets, create mood boards, sketch, spec and fit.
  • Maintain cross-functional relationships and align with brand identity and business strategy.
  • Set silhouette, fit and styling direction; collaborate with Senior Designer/Director on fabric/yarn direction.
  • Attend fittings and provide input on fit and QA with production teams.

Is fully responsible for entire product design process to include market research, mood board creation, designing, sketching, specing and fit.
