Job summary

W-Industries is seeking a Designer III to develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings for skid-mounted equipment, including structural, piping, and vessel components. You will prepare P&IDs and hydraulic schematics using AutoCAD and Inventor, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and client requirements.

The role requires 8+ years of experience, a high school diploma (CAD certification or associate degree preferred), and a strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

Description

The Designer III is responsible for developing detailed 2D and 3D drawings to support the design and fabrication of structural, piping, and vessel components. This role includes preparing P&IDs, hydraulic schematics, general arrangements, and fabrication details using AutoCAD and Inventor, while ensuring compliance with engineering standards, client requirements, and company guidelines.

Requirements

• P&ID and Hydraulic Schematics using ISA and ISO standard symbology.
• 3D modelling using Inventor.
• Packaging 3rd party equipment base on engineering bill of materials, client requirements, and company standards.
• General Arrangement drawings.
• Fabrication Details drawings for structures, piping, vessels, and sheet metal components.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge of drafting principles for fabrication and assembly; disciplines including: Structural, Piping, and Vessels.
• Proficiency in using AutoCAD and Inventor; specifically, the use of constraints, Frame Generator, and Tube&Pipe.
• Knowledge of Dynamic Block creation, Inventor iParts and iLogic is a plus.
• Ability to work with a flexible mindset to handle multiple product lines and multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to create and modify drawings from engineer-provided markups with high level attention to detail.
• Strong professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively independently or as a part of a team.
• Ability to perform tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Highly organized and efficient.
• Ability to understand and implement a wide range of CAD standards.
• Proficient with Windows 7 or newer.
• Proficient with MS office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, etc.).
• Familiarity with HPU, TUTA, Chemical Injection, Well Head Control Panels is a plus.

Required Experience & Education

• 8+ years of experience designing for skid mounted equipment within a manufacturing setting.
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required; Associate’s Degree or CAD Certification preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
