Job summary

LJA Land Development is seeking a Design professional to support project teams in developing design documentation, plans, and reports for site/land development projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and AutoCAD is essential, with a strong emphasis on coordinating disciplines to ensure design integrity and accuracy.

You will participate in value engineering, cost estimation, and review of drawings, while collaborating across internal teams and external consultants.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of drafting and engineering technician experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D for site/land development.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to build relationships with coworkers and public agencies.
• Flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice.
• Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and revises documentation across project phases.
• Coordinates with disciplines to ensure design intent compatibility.
• Reviews shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs.
• Attends project coordination meetings with internal or external teams.
• Contributes to value engineering and basic cost estimating.
• Generates dirt calculations considering stripping and compaction.
• Interprets sketches, drawings and specifications.
